Jonathan Kirkwood serves as Records Manager at the Archives and Rare Books Library for the University of Cincinnati. He is responsible for providing guidance on how university records are managed, disposed, and preserved.

Jonathan received his first master’s degree from Western Michigan University in public history (2013) and his second from Wayne State University in library and information science (2021). He has worked at multiple archives in the academic and nonprofit sectors, including Western Michigan University, Kingman Museum, and most recently Sloan Museum of Discovery in Flint, Michigan. He has been active with multiple organizations, including the Society of American Archivist, Midwest Archives Conference, and the Michigan Archival Association.

Past work has seen him receive grant funding from the Mott Community Foundation for digitizing images of African American individuals, homes, businesses, and churches from across Flint, Friends of the University Libraries (WMU) for travel and research, and the Battle Creek Community Foundation for digitizing photographs taken by Edward Brigham Sr. during expeditions to South America in the 1890s. His publications have focused on archival project management, digitization, and disaster planning.
