Open Access Article Publishing

Publishing in open access journals often requires paying article processing charges (APCs). APCs are fees that publishers charge authors to cover the costs of publishing and distributing the author’s work in open access journals. Chapter processing charges (CPCs) are fees associated with publishing a chapter in an open access edited volume. These charges can vary in amount from publisher to publisher. APC publishing waivers and awards may help University of Cincinnati faculty members cover these costs.

Waivers and Publishing Partnerships

The University of Cincinnati Library is proud to offer APC waivers for hundreds of academic journals through our OhioLINK membership. These waivers can save faculty thousands of dollars in APCs and provide the widest dissemination and usage of research and scholarly writing. Before choosing a journal to submit for publication, check the list for our current partnerships for available publishing waivers on the UC Libraries Read and Publish Deals libguide. Each publisher has its own criteria. All publishing waivers are claimed through the application process of the journal.
