The Frederick A. Marcotte Library was named for the University of Cincinnati Clermont College's first librarian, Frederick A. Marcotte (1972-2002). A student-centered and forward-looking librarian, Fred fostered a learning environment where all were welcome. He enjoyed mentoring, sharing, and guiding students in their educational pursuits. As a librarian who embraced new approaches and technology, Fred brough innovative, cutting-edge thinking to the library. As campus historian, he documented the growth of the campus he loved and was instrumental in obtaining accreditation for the Clermont College from the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA). The library was dedicated in his name in 2023.
