Library System Migration

The OhioLINK consortium, which includes the University of Cincinnati Libraries, is upgrading the Library Services Platform (LSP) in summer 2025 to ExLibris Alma/Primo VE. This system is the backbone of library operations and user access to library resources.

Resources

Key Information

  • The new system is now LIVE (June 25, 2025)
  • Library collections are not changing.
  • Links to library resources will break and need to be updated. Learn more in the CECH Knowledge Base.

What's New?

  • UC Libraries homepage has changed slightly
  • New searching and services in OneSearch
    • Enhanced discovery – explore resources across the OhioLINK network, citation trails, availability in multiple formats, and track requests.
    • Personalized features – save preferences, searches, citations and export to citation management systems. Login with your UC credentials to access these features.
    • More intuitive and mobile-friendly user experience.

Using OneSearch

You can access OneSearch from the UC Libraries homepage. OneSearch has different search modes in the dropdown to the right of the search bar. More information using OneSearch and placing holds is available in the CECH Knowledge Base.

  • Articles, Books, and More will show users search results comprised of physical, electronic, and digital items from UC Libraries, OhioLINK libraries, and affiliate libraries. Users will also see items available to them through other OhioLINK libraries and ExLibris’ central index of aggregated scholarly material. ExLibris is the company that owns the new library service platform (LSP).
  • UC Libraries Catalog will show users search results comprised of physical items (books, kits and more) owned by UC Libraries.
  • Beyond My Library will show users search results comprised of resources outside of UC, available via OhioLINK or Interlibrary Loan.
  • Special Collections will show users search results comprised of physical items located at designated special collections across UC Libraries.
  • Course Reserves will show users items available in course reserves. This is still under construction! Check back in Fall 2025.

What is OhioLINK?

OhioLINK is a consortium (organization) comprised of over 100 libraries at Ohio colleges and universities. OhioLINK libraries share resources, giving you access to millions of book, ebooks, scholarly articles, and more.

OneSearch allows users to view and request items located at other OhioLINK libraries, in addition to items available at UC. These items will appear in your library account.
