The University of Cincinnati Libraries is an integral partner in the university’s efforts to achieve its #NEXT Lives Here strategic directions. With the launch of the University of Cincinnati Libraries Strategic Plan, 2024-2027, we are increasing our impact by focusing on four Strategic Directions: Enrich Our Collections, Expand Our Impact, Strengthen Our Organization and Support Our Students.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

UC Libraries preserves and provides access to special collections and the scholarly and historical record of the university, including archival as well as born-digital content and datasets.

As the intellectual hub for students and faculty, libraries provide a variety of spaces that inspire and promote learning and discovery.

Library services, collections and programs foster the spark of inspiration for a digital culture that integrates traditional ways of learning with new ways of discovery and exploration.

 

With over 4 million volumes and access to thousands of electronic resources available 24/7 through our online library catalog, UC Libraries' virtual and physical spaces offer resources for everyone. UC Libraries includes the Walter C. Langsam Library, the Archives and Rare Books Library, the Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library, and eight college and departmental libraries serving constituents in applied science, architecture, art, biology, chemistry, classics, design, education, engineering, geology, mathematics, music, physics and planning.

Novel drug achieves high objective response rate in heavily...

Cancer Network News highlighted research led by the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center's Zulfa Omer that found a novel drug was generally well tolerated and demonstrated early efficacy in patients with relapsed/refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Taft Medal honoree cherishes successful career’s winding road

June 17, 2025

Upon being introduced by UC President Neville Pinto as the 2025 recipient of the William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement at the UC Alumni Celebration in April, Darrell Miller gave in to the understandable urge within him, given his surroundings. There in historic Cincinnati Music Hall, he paused a moment, then belted out several bars of Nessun dorma from the Puccini opera Turandot, showing off a set of pipes that don’t get exercised all that often these days but remain mainstage-worthy.

UC Libraries closed July 4th

The University of Cincinnati Libraries will be closed, Friday, July 4 for Independence Day. Normal hours for all library locations will resume Saturday, July 5. Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.
