Focusing on the topic of the "Languages of Imperialism: The Cultural Dimensions of Conquest," the fifth annual Ropes Lecture Series begins on Jan. 27.

The University of Cincinnati dance team finished first in the hip hop division at the 2004 College Cheerleading and Dance Team Nationals over the weekend, scoring the first national championship in team history. The finish by the dancers was one of three top-10 finishes earned by Bearcat squads in the weekend competition.
