DAAP Library COVID-19 Updates

Find all relevant information related to the DAAP Library's current response to the COVID-19 outbreak including access to remote services and support and other helpful links.

Given the rapidly changing events related to COVID-19, please check back often for updates.

General Library Information

As a result of UC's move to remote instruction through the end of spring semester, the library has adjusted services and support during this time.

  • Regular Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. 
  • Please email Elizabeth Meyer with questions and requests for materials.
  • Click & Collect daily, Monday-Friday.
  • Materials are located on a cart at the library's entrance. If you are a non-DAAP borrower we will contact Public Safety for Bearcat ID swipe access M-F, 10-4 for two weeks or until items are retrieved.
  • All UC Students will be required to display a ‘Green’ pass to security guards on the UC COVID Check App.  Faculty, staff, and visitors may also use the UC COVID Check App in order to secure a green pass or will be asked screening questions to gain entry to all locations.

  • Capacity = 20
  • The DAAP Library is open to browse, view, and checkout library materials, and for computer use to access library resources. No study rooms or study tables will be available.

Library support is available virtually during the following time:

Monday - Friday
8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

We reply to email questions within one day. Questions that occur outside of service hours will be addressed the following business day (if Friday, responses will be addressed on Monday).

Currently Checked Out Materials

Library users should keep their library materials for now.

  • Due dates have been extended for all materials. Fines will not be incurred for UC, OhioLINK or Interlibrary Loan items.
  • Books may be returned to the drop slot outside of the main entrance of Langsam Library if needed.
  • If you absolutely must return equipment, please contact Public Safety at (513) 556-1111 in advance and arrange to meet an officer.
  • DO NOT LEAVE equipment items outside of the library

Research and Teaching Support

Virtual research support will be available Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Research support will be provided via email during this time.

Please email elizabeth.meyer@uc.edu for help with research.

Real-time web consultations may also be scheduled via email depending on the nature and depth of the research question.

Research Guides & Help for Students

Course, subject, and topic-specific Research Guides provide a great starting point for your students. 

There are several online tutorials available that can also be helpful for faculty, staff, and students. Some topics covered include citations, searching databases, and using Kaltura Capture.
