Does the library have all the textbooks? Expand
The UCBA Library does not have every textbook but we do place a significant number of textbooks on Reserve at the instructor's request each semester. Please ask at the Library Information Desk to see if the material you need is on reserve. If not, you may wish to ask the instructor if he/she will place a copy on Reserve.
My professor said our textbook is on reserve. Where do I find it? Expand
Reserve material is behind the Library Information Desk. Please ask at the Info Desk and we will be happy to check for availability. If the item is unavailable, we will let you know when it is due back or search other locations.
Can I search the Library's resources when I am not on the campus? Expand
To search the Library's databases while not on a UC campus, click on Off Campus Access from the UCBA Library homepage. VPN is the preferred login method for UC. First time users must download the VPN software. If you don't have VPN software on your computer, use Library Off Campus Access (Proxy) to login with your with your UC or affiliate ID. Please contact the Information Desk at 513-745-5710 for assistance.
How do I cite this book/article/website in APA/MLA format? Expand

COMPUTERS AND MEDIA
Can I type my paper in the library? Expand
Yes. The library has 15 public computer workstations that are equipped with MS Office 2013. In addition, there is a scanning workstation also equiped with MS Office 2013. The UCBA Library also has 15 laptops (12 DELLs and 3 MACs) available for checkout and use on campus only.
Can I save my file to the library computer? Expand
The Library has 2 flash drives available for checkout. Files can be temporarily saved to library computers while you are logged on, but the files will be deleted upon log off.
What software is available on the library computers? Expand
Can I listen to/view a DVD/CD in the library? Expand
Yes, DVD/CD's can be watched or listened to on all library computers. Additionally DVD viewing is available on the monitors in the study rooms with a laptop. Need headphones? They are available for checkout at the Library Information Desk. A valid UC ID or Driver's License is required to checkout library material.
NOTE: If a CD-ROM can be run directly from the CD itself, you may be able to use it on the library computers. Some CDs require auxiliary programs that are not available on the library computers. Software cannot be installed on library computers.
Does the Library have wireless access? Expand
The UCBA College campus is wireless including the library. Once connected to the wireless network, users will be able to access the full range of Library resources.

Do I need my student ID in order to check out a book? Expand
Yes, you will need a valid UC ID or Driver's License.
Where can I make copies? Is there a color copier on campus? Expand
The library has two photocopiers available for your use. The charge is 10¢ per page. If you use your Bearcat Campus Card (your UC ID), the cost is 8¢ per page. You can deposit money on your campus card online using a debit/credit card at http://www.uc.edu/ bearcatcard.

Does the library have a scanner? Expand
There is one scanner workstation in the library, adjacent to the print workstations and copiers. The station also has MS Office 2013, however priority is given to students using the scanner. Students not using the scanner may be asked to move for a student wishing to use the scanner. Scanners are also available in the Computer Concourse across the hall from the Library.
Does the library have a fax I can use? Expand
There is not a fax machine available for student use on campus.
Does the library have supplies I can use (paper cutter, stapler, hole punch, pencil sharpener, scrap paper)? Expand
Basic supplies, as listed above, are available on the work tables near the printers.
Is there a lost and found? Expand
Items are held temporarily at the Information Desk. Lost flash drives are immediately turned over to the Computer Concourse Help Desk. Any items of high value such as wallets, backpacks, jewelry, and textbooks are immediately taken to UC Police/Security. Other items such as water bottles or clothing are held for 5 days and then disposed of.

How do I deposit money on my Bearcat card? Expand
Money can be deposited at any time during the year at convenient locations around the Clifton campus, our Web site canopy.uc.edu 24/7, at the MainStreet Connection Center desk on level 3 of Tangeman University Center (TUC), at Langsam Library on the 4th floor, Medical Science Building 1st Floor, or level 2 of TUC using the VTS (Value Transfer Station) where you add money on the spot, or call the Bearcat Card office at 513-556-2000.
Can I use the UCBA Library if I'm not a UC student, staff or faculty member? Expand
Non-University of Cincinnati patrons should consult the Community Borrowers Brochure (PDF) for eligibility to borrow materials. Public Library of Cincinnati - Hamilton County users are now members of SearchOhio and can either request materials from other libraries through their library catalog or borrow circulating print or media materials directly (on site) from University of Cincinnati Libraries with their PLCHC card and a photo ID.
Community users can access our online resources on a limited basis as we prioritize our computer resources for UCBA faculty, staff and students. If you need consistent or extensive access to online resources, please contact your home insitution (e.g. company, organization or public library).
Community users do not have printing privileges in the UCBA Library.
Can someone in the library proctor tests? Sign my form? Expand
The Library does not proctor tests or sign documents for students.
