List of health promotion/education journals

Build a list of journals in your specific subject area.  Use any or all of the following techniques to create a list of journals related to your subject area.

  1. Select [Full Text Journals].  Go to “Browse by subject”  and select  “Health & Biological Sciences,” and then click the [Search] button.  Scroll down the list of subjects until you get to “Public Health.”  You will find 25 specific health related categories of journals.  Click on the categories that interest you to create a list of journal links

  2. Select [Full Text Journals]  and perform a “Title contains all words” search.  This search retrieves single word terms, e.g., “psychotherapy,” and also can be used to search for meaningful term combinations, e.g., “health psychology.”  The latter search will retrieve journal titles with “health psychology” in the title as well as the title “Health & Psychology.”

  3. To build a list of paper or selected full-text (electronic) journals, select [UCLID] and perform a “keyword” search for your topic area, e.g. “hypnotherapy”.  Be sure to LIMIT your search to the material type “Periodicals/Serials.”
    1. For multiple word searches, broaden your search by entering terms separated by the “OR” operator, e.g.,  psychology OR therapy.
    2. For multiple word searches, narrow your search by entering terms separated by spaces, e.g., psychology clinical.   There is no need to type “AND,” because it is assumed in all UCLID keyword searches.
