What is an index?
An alphabetical list of citations to articles in different serial publications; can be arranged by author/title/subject
 
What is a database ?
A collection of information organized and presented to serve a specific purpose. (A telephone book is a common database.) A computerized database is an updated, organized file of machine readable information that is rapidly searched and retrieved by computer
 
Where can I find more indexes and databases?
Databases in the collection of University Libraries that are not contained on the indexes and databases page can be found in the Library Catalog (UCLID).Note the button: "Change your search by location or material type". By choosing this function, you may limit your search to periodicals and serials, or to online books, journals and databases.
