The following Self-Help Guide is designed to assist researchers in choosing which of the electronic databases (i.e., indexes) in the sciences found at the University of Cincinnati Libraries might be most useful in researching a specific topic. These electronic indexes offer assistance in locating journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, patents, standards, and in some cases books.
A few general interest databases are included here, but most social science and humanities databases may be found by using the University of Cincinnati Libraries list of databases and indexes.
Database titles can be viewed alphabetically, or by broad subject category. There will often be overlap in subject catagories, so be sure to check all appropriate categories.
