Bookshelf is a collection of biomedical books that the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is adapting for the web in collaboration with authors and publishers.

An index to more than 25,000 English language books. All should be free for personal, non-commercial use.

The 88th edition (Internet version 2008) contains updated and revised data on approximately 11,000 inorganic and organic chemical compounds, as well as critical constant tables for 858 fluids. The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics can be found in the CHEMnetBASE database.

CRCnetBASE provides full text access to over 2,000 engineering, science, medical, and information technology reference books from Auerbach Publications, CRC Press, Chapman and Hall, Lewis Publishers, Marcel Dekker, and Taylor and Francis. The service consists of the following subject databases: BIOSCIENCEnetBASE, CHEMnetBASE, ENGnetBASE, (CIVILEngineeringnetBASE, ELECTRICALEngineeringnetBASE, MECHANICALEngineeringnetBASE, TELECOMMUNICATIONSnetBASE), ENVIROnetBASE, FOODnetBASE, FORENSICnetBASE, InfoSECURITYnetBASE, ITknowledgenetBASE, MATERIALSnetBASE, MATHnetBASE, NANOnetBASE, NEUROSCIENCEnetBASE, NUTRITIONnetBASE, PHARMACEUTICALnetBASE, PlantSCIENCEnetBase, POLYMERSnetBASE, and STATSnetBASE. New books are added monthly.

Credo Reference is an online reference library that provides you with access to a selection of approximately 302 reference books from over 50 publishers.  Credo Reference includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, and books of quotations, not to mention a range of subject-specific titles covering everything from art to accountancy and literature to law, including science and technology. Find out about the titles in Credo Reference.

The OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center is a free online database of master' theses and doctoral dissertations from graduate students in participating Ohio colleges and universities.

InfoSci Online includes full-text books, journal articles, case studies, and proceedings from the Idea Group Publishing, Information Science Publishers, CyberTech Publishers, and IRM Press. InfoSci-Online covers research trends and developments in information science and technology such as IT management, end user computing, data mining, knowledge management, e-commerce, multimedia databases, telecommunications, and distance learning in the following areas: Business Management; Computer Science; Education Technologies; Electronic Commerce; Environmental IS; Healthcare Information Systems; Information Systems; Library Science; Multimedia Information Systems; Public Information Systems; Social Science and Technologies.

Provides leading science and engineering books, conferences, and databases embedded with productivity tools in one online service. The Knovel product provides the ability to interact with the data, deep searchability, valuable subject collections through aggregation, and continuing expanding content.  At the end of April 2008, the University of Cincinnati had online access to approximately 1,600 books in the Knovel collection.

The National Academies Press (NAP) was created by the National Academies to publish the reports issued by the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council, all operating under a charter granted by the Congress of the United States. NAP publishes over 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and health, capturing the most authoritative views on important issues in science and health policy. The institutions represented by NAP are unique in that they attract the nation's leading experts in every field to serve on their blue ribbon panels and committees. For definitive information on everything from space science to animal nutrition, you have come to the right place.

NetLibrary is a library of electronic books (e-books) on many academic subjects. The collection includes thousands of titles purchased by OhioLINK, plus thousands of public-domain e-books. Users can preview an e-book online, peruse a page, read each page in depth, jump to specific chapters or pages, or use links in the Table of Content or Index to go directly to specific chapters of interest. Users can also download and read e-books on their personal computers. Every word in every book is searchable. NetLibrary operates on the library check-out model, where readers check out e-books for a specified amount of time.

Offers thousands of scholarly and reference e-books covering the engineering, humanities, sciences and social sciences.

Contains full text books including dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesaurus, and almanac.

Dissertations from 1861 to the present with full-text to UC Ph.D. dissertations from 1955 to the present and for other institutions from 1997 to the present.

Referex Engineering is a searchable collection of over 1,400 engineering, science, and information technology books in six distinct collections:

Chemical, Petrochemical and Process Engineering

Civil and Environmental Engineering

Computing

Electronics and Electrical Engineering

Mechanical and Materials Engineering

Security and Networking

Electronic books in computer science, information technology, and related fields.

As of 2008, the Elsevier ScienceDirect searchable ebook collection includes 1,829 books covering the years 1995-2006.  Seven subject categories are included in the collection.  The seven subject areas are: Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, and Materials Science.

SYNTHESIS is an innovative information service for the research, development and educational communities in engineering and computer science. It combines authoritative content with advanced digital delivery to create a product that is substantially more useful than traditional print and digital publications.

Content, Structure, and Scope
The basic component of the library is a 50- to 100-page electronic book that synthesizes an important research or development topic, authored by a prominent contributor to the field. We call these Lectures and believe that they offer unique value to the reader by providing more synthesis, analysis, and depth than typical research journal articles. They are also more modular and dynamic than traditional print or digital handbooks, such as collected volumes and monographs. We believe that they are ideal entry points to new areas for researchers, advanced developer s, and students.

SYNTHESIS is organized by series, each managed by a prominent consulting editor. The series editor oversees lecture topic and author selection as well as peer review to assure quality. SYNTHESIS launched in October 2005 with an initial selection of series in engineering and computer science. New titles in each series will be posted to the site as they become available.

Additional series and titles will be added and revised as necessary. This constant influx makes the library dynamic in a way that has never be en achieved with existing print or electronic products. Over time, SYNTHESIS will grow to encompass the entire scope of its subject disciplines. Our goal is to create one of the largest and most complete compilations of knowledge in engineering and computer science.

A variety of electronic reference resources.
