Creating Digital Image Presentations
Scanning Images
Resolution: 72-96 dpi
Most screen resolutions are 1024 x 768 pixels, so if you want to fill up the entire screen make your images 1024 on the longest side.
Save as JPEG for photographs or GIF for logos or other graphics.
Using Google images
- Look for the highest pixel count possible (this is listed below the image).
- If using Google image search:
- Click on the text See full size image
- Right click on image and choose Save Picture As
- Choose location to save
Time-Saver in PowerPoint (if you want one image per slide):
To acquire a whole folder of images as slides at one time using PowerPoint 2003 or 2007:
- Click on Insert
- Select Photo Album
- Browse to the folder that you want to acquire and select. (Images do not have to be converted to JPEGs.)
- All images will be sized correctly and centered.
If you would like a black background:
- Click on the Design Tab
- Select Background Styles
- Change to black
Move an image using the grabber hand in the center of the image. Resize an image by grabbing a handle diagonally—this will maintain the aspect ratio.
