Chemistry Collection
Description
The Chemistry portion of the Chemistry-Biology Library is a research-level
collection with strengths in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and
the history of
chemistry. The main chemistry collection covers works from 1800
- the present, most in English, French, or German. Other libraries with
collections related to this subject area are:
History
The Chemistry portion of the Chemistry-Biology collection was drawn from
the old Chemistry Library, which included Chemical Engineering,
Metallurgy, and Nuclear Engineering. The latter were transferred to the
Engineering Library. Integration of the Chemistry collection with that of
the Biological Sciences occurred in 1970 at the time of their move to the
current location.
