August 16, 2004 - Beginning Monday, August 16, work will begin to recarpet the Geology-Mathematics-Physics Library. The first floor to be carpeted will be the 100 level containing the journal and book collections. Beginning Monday, August 16, the 100 level will be closed, requiring library users to request materials from the circulation desk on the 200 level. Requests for materials will be processed the following morning prior to the contractors arriving and will be available for pick up once the library opens. The recarpeting of the 100 level should take approximately two weeks.
Once work has completed on the 100 level, recarpeting will begin on the 200 level, the main entry level to the library. At this time, circulation, hold shelves, open/closed reserves, and library staff will be relocated to the 100 level. Library users will enter and exit the library through the fire door on the north side of the building. Recarpeting of the 200 level should take approximately two weeks.
