This page leads to the Health Sciences Library's e-resources, including databases, electronic journals, electronic books, and library catalogs. Many of these resources are provided in partnership with OhioLINK.

BioMed Central - an open access publishing model for biological and medical research that provides an opportunity for faculty to publish in peer-reviewed journals without transferring copyright. BioMed Central also provides global exposure, rapid publication and indexing in PubMed, Cross Ref, BIOSIS, CAS, Scirus, and ISI citation indexes.

Biomedical and Nursing Databases - MEDLINE & other health related abstracts & indexes

CHAIN Online a new educational Web site that "offers expert perspectives, advice and guidance on drugs, biological products, and medical devices from AHRQ's Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs)." The Clinician-Consumer Health Advisory Information Network (CHAIN) links clinicians and consumers with information on therapeutics to assist in clinical practice and health care decisionmaking in areas where evidence is undergoing significant and rapid changes. The site's educational section includes materials to assist consumers with clinician-patient conversations and decisionmaking as well as an online medication record. Resources for clinicians include a slide library that can be adapted to educate clinical audiences and used for continuing medical education credit.

Citing Online Sources - links to information about how to cite online sources like the web, Twitter, blogs, wikis, etc.

Copyright Information - A list of links leading to information about copyright law, "Fair Use", measuring "Fair Use" factors, the TEACH Act, and a "Crash Course in Copyright".

Digital Images Web resources providing educational multimedia materials for the health sciences and other subject areas

Nature Precedings is a free open access service from NPG that provides a way for researchers to share preliminary findings, solicit community feedback, and claim priority over discoveries.

NIH Manuscript Submission System - information about the submission process, tutorials, and a list of journals that submit articles directly to PubMed Central

PDA Software - Selected list of free medical PDA software plus sources of other medical PDA software

OhioLINK Databases - Collections of indexes, electronic texts, and image/digital media in many subject areas

Public Health Databases - List of free and UC subscription databases for Public Health based on a list from the Evidence-Based Practice for Public Health (EBPPH) website.

RefWorks - RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and database manager in which users can create their own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases.  To use RefWorks, create a personal accountDirect link to RefWorks (use after creating personal account).

SCOPUS is an abstract database for science and social science scholarly literature that covers 25 million abstracts from over 14,000 titles across 4,000 publishers, providing access to over 25 million abstracts. (Citations: 1966 to present)
